The CAD in schools programme is now part of the Digital D&T Programme and continues to grow using software provided by PTC, Delcam and Speed Step to enhance and develop the use of CAD/CAM in the design and technology curriculum. The aims of the CAD in schools programme still apply: to ensure that all secondary schools in the UK have access to CAD/CAM and to ensure that all teachers using the software with students are adequately trained in both the use of the software and the appropriate curriculum applications. This is provided through a training and accreditation scheme for teachers and technicians which subsequently provides them with the tools needed to teach the software to students.
